CURIOSITIES

On Dragon Ball’s Earth, “Earthling” doesn’t mean “human” only. The planet basically splits into 4 types: human, animal-people, monsters, and hybrids.

1) Human (standard)
Examples: Krillin, Bulma, Mr. Satan, Videl, Chi‑Chi. They’re the core of society, and some reach insane levels just through training/ki.

2) Animal (animal-people / anthropomorphic citizens)
Examples: King Furry (the Dog King) or Shu, plus many animal-looking civilians and police shown in cities. In Dragon Ball, this is treated as normal everyday society.

3) Monster (Earth creatures)
Examples: Emperor Pilaf, plus the various Earth monsters seen in early Dragon Ball (island/cave/lake creatures). They usually live away from big cities and show up as “the threat of the episode.”

4) Hybrid (mixed types)
Examples: Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Bra and Bulla, plus background citizens with a clear mix of human + animal traits; some “odd” creatures can also be read as hybrids depending on their design.
